Hi there, I'm Avery
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat transitions, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Uyi Iqus Tav Mepepo
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Real-world insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family living and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Avery
